  • Overview

    The Applications Support Specialist oversees the industry specific and general software applications utilized by the firm and its clients. The position is responsible for installation and updates to software used by the firm and diagnosing and resolving technical software related issues submitted internally and externally. In addition, the Applications Support Specialist assists in training new users on certain software programs. Performance is evaluated based on quality and accuracy of work. External and internal client service and the ability to successfully interact, communicate with, and respond to client needs and requests are the primary functions of this position.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

     

    1. Documents, prioritizes, tracks and responds to IT requests received by phone and e-mail.
    2. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies, makes recommendations for purchases and orders equipment as required via rotation schedule or other needs.
    3. Installs all new software and runs updates to existing software.       Monitors and renews software as needed. Conducts research as needed on existing and new software.
    4. Supports the administration, support, training and troubleshooting of various software programs including but not limited to:

    MS Office

    CCH Intelliconnect

    ShoreTel

    CCH Engagement

    PDFlyer

    1. Supports and assists with XCM data including but not limited to populating staff roles, task workflow, task setup, rolling over tasks, generating reports and year end maintenance.
    2. Supports CCH for Tax, including setting up the software on an annual basis, preparing organizers, managing electronic filing and resolving issues, clearing rejections and assisting in heavy due date times.
    3. Supports setup of iChannel Portals and supports iChannel Portals for clients and employees.
    4. Supports KB DirectConnect including:
    • Sets up, supports and manages billing of KB DirectConnect clients,
    • Coordinates and maintains client software license compliance with vendor,
    • Supports QuickBooks features,
    • Manages setup of QuickBooks Online and supports QuickBooks Online clients.
    1. Assists in the development and training of procedures as they relate to specific software, KB DirectConnect, Tax Preparation, New Hires, Data Retention and TCC.
    2. Maintains Employee Training Library on Intranet and in Public Folders.
    3. Records and edits videos as requested.
    4. Assists VPM Administrator with Efiling deadlines including producing reports, contacting clients and filing signed 8879’s.
